Aggie wide receiver Doug Williams, a junior from Mountain View, California, was named 3rd Team All American by Don Hansen's Football Gazette for 2009. Williams hauled in 74 receptions for 1,175 yards and 17 touchdowns and ranked 6th nationally in receiving yards. Williams was a fall transfer to OPSU from Foothills College in California.  His biggest day for the Aggies came during the Bacone College  game when he hauled in 7 passes for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns.  Williams also had 3 touchdown outings vs, Texas College and Northwestern Oklahoma State.  The touchdown vs. Texas College came after the Aggies had fallen behind 26-24 with 1:48 to play in the game.  Williams hauled in a Vinnie Gay slant pass and took it 62 yards for a TD to give the Aggies a 31-26 victory.
Darryl Brister, a sophomore from New Orleans, was honored as Football Gazette Honorable Mention All American All-Purpose back. In 2009, he accounted for 1789 all-purpose yards (1,163 rushing, 227 receiving, and 407 on punt and kickoff returns), averaging over 162 yards per game. He also scored 14 touchdowns and ranked 13th nationally in all-purpose yards and 17th nationally in rushing.  Brister was also an Aggie team captain in 2009.
Among the top performances for Brister in 2009 were his 28 carries for 230 yards and 3 TDs vs. the University of the Incarnate Word and his 35 carries for 227 yards and 3 TDs vs. Southwestern Oklahoma State.  His final TD came 2:51 to play on a third and goal which gave the Aggies a 28-24 lead which proved to be the final margin of victory giving the Aggies only there 3rd win over Southwestern Oklahoma State in the last 26 years.
"I am proud of the accomplishments of both Doug and Darryl. They are both top quality people as well as top quality athletes.  The good news is that we have them both back for the 2010 season." stated Aggie head football coach Mike Wyatt.
"I know both would want to acknowledge the fine work of their teammates  and coaches in helping them achieve these milestones." added Wyatt.
2009 marks the 22 year that Don Hansen's Football Gazette has selected a NCAA II All America Team.  A total of 157 players from 83 of the 150 NCAA II football playing school received honors for the 2009 season.
