Posted Sunday, January 10, 2010 by staff
Oklahoma Panhandle State teammates Darryl Brister and Doug Williams both earned recognition as All Region 4 players as selected by Don Hansen’s Football Gazette. Both were named to the 2nd team.
Brister, a sophomore from New Orleans. LA, was named as an All Purpose back. In 2009, he accounted for 1789 all purpose yards ( 1163 rushing, 227 receiving, 407 on punt and kickoff returns), averaging 162.45 yards per game. He also scored 14 touchdowns. Brister ranked 13th nationally in all purpose yards and 17th nationally in rushing.
Williams, a junior from Mountain View, CA, hauled in 74 receptions for 1175 yards and 17 touchdowns, finishing ranked 6th nationally in receiving yards.

The first- and second-team all-region selections advance to the national ballot from which the 2009 NCAA Division II Football Gazette All-America team will be named.
This marks the eighth year Football Gazette has selected NCAA Division II All-Region teams. The national publication, an authority on small college football, has selected NCAA Division II All-America teams since 1988.
A total of 93 players earned some form of Football Gazette All-Super Region Four honors. Players from 27 of the 34 football-playing schools in Super Region Four earned All- Region accolades.
