When OPSU opens the 2008 season at home vs. Fort Lewis College of Durango, Colorado, football fans will be in for a treat. The game will feature two of the best linebackers in DII football. Fort Lewis College will be led by senior, 1st team Preseason All American Mark Meng ( in photo: left) who will face off against OPSU's Matt Warner (in photo: right) who was also a 1st team Preseason All American selection.

Both stalwarts are junior college transfers back for their senior campaigns. Warner chose OPSU after having played at the College of DuPage in Illinois, while Meng chose the Skyhawks of Fort Lewis College after having played at Chaffey Community College in California. In 2007, Warner ranked 2nd nationally in both total tackles with 131 and solo tackles with 76, while Meng ranked 4th nationally with 125 total tackles and 69 solos, ranking 5th in that category.

"If you are looking for good linebacker play, it will be hard to find much better than these two. Both are leaders of their teams and both are optimistic about their team's futures. It should make for a great opening game." stated Aggie head football coach Mike Wyatt.
