FCA Making A Difference for the Aggies

On March 7-9, the OPSU FCA chapter held their first annual spring retreat travelling to a church camp just east of Hardesty, Oklahoma. Thrity two members of the Aggie Football Team and Coaching staff attended the retreat conducted by Pastor Mark Weber of St. Louis and Mike Daggett of Konowa who brought the message and music, respectively.

"Prior to our retreat, there would be four or five at the weekly FCA meetings at OPSU, but after that retreat we were always in the mid-twenties in attendance" state Jay Kindsvater, OPSU FCA Coordinator.

The retreat occured just prior to Spring Break, but the Aggies weren't finished hearing the Word. After Spring Break, Pastor Jon Randles of Frisco, Texas, joined with University of Oklahoma All American football player Vince Carter to bring the message and song in services held in Oscar Williams Fieldhouse. The duo spoke to the Aggie Football Team just prior to the beginning of Spring Practices '08.

Aggies Matt Warner, Johnathan Wyatt, Ben Lane, Darryl Brister, Teron Guidry, Rigel Baker, Jayden Roseboro, and Ronnie Quinn have all taken n leadership roles in the Aggie FCA Chapter.

Aggie Head Football Coach Mike Wyatt and Assistant Coaches Mark Rutlege, Nick Curry, and Donavan Goodno, as well as Aggie Academic Coordinator, Brandi Wyatt are regulars at the meetings, as well.
